Health Centre gets Macpherson treatment

Macpherson Vinyl Matt has been used in a wide palette of bespoke colours to create a bright and welcoming environment for patients visiting their brand new health centre in the Norfolk village of Terrington St Clement.
The much needed new centre provides healthcare for around 5000 patients in the local area. It incorporates two separate GP practices, complete with their own dispensing pharmacies, a treatment suite for minor injuries, a base for health visitors and extended community health centre services.
The two-storey building was designed by Norwich based architects Chaplin Farrant and constructed on a design and build basis by Mansell for Norlife, a long-term partnership between the private sector and local public authorities and part of an initiative called LIFT designed to give the public sector access to private sector capital.
Mansell Senior Contracts Manager Tony Crompton was responsible for delivery of the new building. With regard to the interior decor he said: “Our architects firmly believe that positive health benefits can be promoted through the creative use of colour and the provision of more attractive and appealing healthcare environments. Accordingly they provided a very detailed colour scheme for this project which was not only presented to our client Norlife, but which was also approved by the team of doctors and staff who are all now based at the health centre.
“Chaplin Farrant had also insisted on using high quality coatings that would extend the redecoration schedules. Painted surfaces in heavy traffic areas such as the waiting rooms and corridors had to be able to withstand punishment and maintain their appearance over time, and in the consulting rooms one of the key requirements was for surfaces to be wipeable so that a clean and hygienic environment could be maintained at all times.”
“Our local decorating contractor MWL proposed Macpherson Vinyl Matt which met the performance specification and was also readily available in all the different bespoke colours specified by our architects.”
Tony adds: “The building is now complete and fully operational and the interior decor is fresh, bright, contemporary and welcoming. Local residents are benefitting from much improved and more accessible healthcare facilities and we have had excellent feedback from our client and patients alike.”
